About Duara

Duara means circle.

Community, wholeness, and giving and receiving in balance — at the heart of a new kind of school for a new generation.

A Duara school
Our mission

Making quality education accessible — and owned locally.

Duara transforms communities by turning passionate female teachers into School Entrepreneurs who own and run microschools — offering accessible, high-quality education to families in their own communities. Each school is locally rooted, financially viable, and part of an interconnected network.

Why we exist

The system was never built for most families.

The reasons are ones we know too well. Good education exists, but the highest quality stays out of reach for the families who need it most. At the same time, passionate female teachers long to bring change to their own communities, and have nowhere to build it.

Most models that set out to close this gap are top-down: standardised, run from the centre, and unable to reach the last community. We believe the answer runs the other way. The solution already lives within each community, waiting to be unlocked by a female teacher who steps into her power, with the right backing behind her.
What we believe

A human-centred model.

People long to belong, to connect, to have agency, to be trusted — and to trust. Everything we build rests on that.

Trust over control
Agency over dependency
Decentralisation over hierarchy
Collaboration over competition
Connection over transaction
By community, not for community

…held together by love, excellence, and humility.
